We recognize and encourage the young heroes who contribute to creating a culture of peace and sustainable development through their projects or initiative and have shown exemplary public- mindedness to bring a positive, lasting impact on their community.
Candidates for the award are chosen every year through nomination and must be submitted by someone other than themselves. 2021 marks the first year for giving this annual award.
Who is eligible to receive an award?
The award can be eligible to any young person aged between 10 to 35 live in Somalia and who has contributed to solving social problems, promoted activities to support young generation or community at large, or achieved some substantial results through service.
How to nominate?
Candidates for the award are chosen every year through nomination and must be submitted by someone other than themselves. Submissions for nominations open in January and ends on June.

What is the process?
After submitting a nominee through the application form, nominees will be evaluated by a committee. Nominees will be notified of the results a month before commemoration of International Youth Day.
Awarding ceremony
We provide a congratulatory letter, a certificate of recognition during the commemoration of International Youth Day, an event which is held every year on August 12. We also provide a media coverage and is highlighted in our newsletter and on social media, raising the profile of his or her good work.
